The military emphasizes serving dutifully and reaching beyond human capacity while compartmentalizing your emotions. So why the HELL are you so full of anxiety that you can’t even do things like go shopping, connect with your family, or SLEEP?

The military did a great job conditioning you to be a soldier, but it has not done an excellent job deconditioning you for the rest of your life.
